McMaster & Heap Veterinary Practice is a clinic I’m very proud to work in, manage and own. My husband and I bought an older existing clinic (that previously sat in our carpark) in 1999 and after many years of planning, dreaming and working hard in our business, we moved into our new purpose built clinic towards the end of 2008. We have never looked back.
We realised about 5 years in we were outgrowing the space, so forged ahead with plans to complete a second build. We now have a modern beautifully designed, spacious new practice which separates out canine and feline patients in terms of waiting areas, consulting areas, ICU, treatment areas and hospital wards. We also have a dedicated, extremely well equipped surgical suite and adjoining theatre area, plus 2 dental surgery workstations. We added extensions to our kennelling and cat wards as well.
We have all the high-tech equipment to enable us to do the best possible job for our patients including a full Idexx lab, Digital DR radiography, IM3 dental radiography, ultrasound machines, endoscopy, full orthopaedic suite, radioactive iodine, two dental workstations, extensive anaesthetic monitoring equipment etc.
We are extremely fortunate to have the team we have. We are like a large family and every day we work closely together to make sure your pet receives “the best of everything” we can offer. We have a large team now consisting of 11 vets, 20 nurses, 2 receptionists, cattery staff and a Practice Manager.
We see referrals from all over Canterbury and the South Island in Ophthalmology, Ultrasonography, ECHO, Oncology including Chemotherapy, Endoscopy, CSF taps, Pennhip, Radioactive Iodine and Medicine cases.
Our Practice is built upon our guarantee to do our very best for you and your pet at all times. We pride ourselves on deliverance of care, clear concise communication, instigating quality treatment plans and high patient success rates. We work long and hard to achieve the above goals.
We have heavily invested in technology, continuing education and equipment, therefore can offer a full complete, comprehensive service. We will always keep abreast of new technologies so your pets have access to Gold Standard therapies and treatments at McMaster & Heap Vets.
